O...Owl...

Today is brought to you by the letter...O...Owl starts with O.
The ABC card crop is in full swing at wescrap. And we are having a blast! There are so many wonderful cards being made. I am so far behind. I'm only at E! I'll have to sit down and plow through the challenges one of these days.
Today, is one of my challenge days.
Here's my owl card. Does it look familiar? I started a card like it a while ago. I never finished it. I recreated it.

Come on over to wescrap to get your cards on!

Fave (5) Friday - Finally!

It's been a couple weeks since I've bothered to take the time to do my fave Friday. Life wasn't too busy that I couldn't. I was too lazy to do so.

But I'm back this week. Let's start...

1. Wii Fit. C'mon, you knew this would show up, didn't you? I've been wanting a Wii for a long, long time now. I'm still wanting a Wii. The Wii I have in my house right now is actually my sister's. She didn't want to take it to college, and I figured I could use it instead of it just sitting, untouched at Mom & Dad's. I've been doing Wii Fit this week. It's easy to cheat, but I haven't. I figure if I did I'd only be lying to myself. I've decided it's time to loose the post baby fat I've been wearing for over two years now. I'm almost 4 pounds lighter and feeling darn proud of myself. Now to keep it up.
2. Looney Spoons and Eat, Shrink & Be Merry. These two cookbooks are awesome. I haven't found a recipe yet I haven't liked. The only con I found...The recipes normally have a long list of ingredients.
3. Crayola finger paints. Monkey loved to finger paint. I love that it's teaching him how to mix colours. He gets so excited when he creates a new colour. We paint outside on the deck. I figure it would be easier to clean up out there. But, knock on wood, we haven't had a single mess yet. As soon as I start letting him paint inside, I'll get a huge mess, won't I?
4. This Coach purse! Enough said.

5. Hilary Swank's wardrobe from P.S. I love You. Yes, I know the movie has been out for a while. I just really love it. I didn't think I would, but I've watched it 4 times now and could go for another dose. Hilary's wardrobe is fabulous in it! I love almost every outfit. I couldn't find a picture of the jacket I'm obessing over. For anyone who's seen the movie...It's the jacket she's wearing at the stadium when she kisses Daniel. That white, red and black plaid one. It's so cute. I want one sooooooo badly!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday and an awesome weekend!

Until next time...

Sore!!! And So Sketchy too!!!

Okay, I apologize to anyone in the world I may have made fun of for complaining about Wii Fit. Even if I didn't hear you, or don't even know you, or don't know you and didn't hear you. Wii Fit, if done right, really is a work out. And although I am very sore today, I will complete at least 30 mins of aerobics today with a sprinkle of yoga on top. If I don't, I'll be have to kick my own big butt. I've decided to do Wii Fit 5 days a week. So Monday to Friday with weekend breaks. Might not be the best idea to have two break days back to back. I'll find out.

Now on to more important things...So Sketchy loaded another one of my layouts today. Here it is...

New Celly...Featuring my sister. Check out the great for wallet sized pictures sketch here.

That on the blurred screen of the cell phone is my sister's boyfriend. The one she's texts a million times a day. See the pink lines in the background paper. They were orange. If you have some of that Basic Grey paper (Lime Rickey line), check it out. I went over all of it with a hot pink gel pen. The orange wasn't working for me. Steve said I have too much time on my hands. I say I love what I do! Check out the skullies! A huge thank you to Joanie! She's the super wonderful, super generous one who sent them to me for my birthday back in July. She's awesome! Also, check out the little journaling spots. They're from Creative Chaos, the sponsor of the month at So Sketchy. I got a cute little package of different labels and such from Jennifer. I feel a little bad I didn't use more of these for my assignments this month. I got the other two done before my package arrived. If you're looking for cute, durable journaling spots, check out her Etsy store. They really are great. I choose to colour mine in a little to match my page more. And they took the ink like a dream! It was like writing on that first page of a fresh new notebook. You nerds (like me) know what I'm talking about.

And when I get my lazy butt in gear, I'll share some other scrappy stuff I've been up to lately. I think I've fallen behind on updating.

Until next time...

ABC Card Crop!

Today the ABC Card Crop at weScrap starts! 26 days, 26 cards; perfect inspiration (or practice in my case) for the holidays. Christmas is just a hop, skip and a jump away. You're bound to find what you're looking on one of the following 26 days. Or maybe something you didn't expect that inspires you to no end.
"A" has been brought to you by your's truly. I am not much of a cardmaker, but I'm trying for this crop. I'm hoping to grow as a cardmaker so I can stop buying them.
Come check it out, play along and (possibly) win some cool MyStamp Box stamps!!!!!

Also, I'd like to add that...

So Sketchy Layout!

It's a So Sketchy day for me! My layout can be found here with the awesome sketch by the fabulous Allison Cope. Seriously...Her sketches are amazing! I get all giddy when I get my sketches for the month.

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use these pictures. I knew this KaiserCraft paper was perfect for this layout. I thought a little out of the box and created a splash. It was totally inspired by the second picture. Once Monkey got through that little tunnel, he got sprayed in the face. It came straight up from the ground. I thought for sure he was going to cry. But no...He just ran around some more.
Until next time...

After Labour Day

How was your long weekend?
Mine wasn't too bad. I can't complain when I got to sit around a fire in my parents' backyard two nights in a row. Enjoyed a couple of beers, ate a few smores (there goes my diet again! Back to square one; start exercising with the Wii Fit today) and shared a couple of giggles with my sister.
My baby sister moved up to Barrie on Monday. She's a newbie Georgain College student. I went along, but I really wasn't any help. I didn't want to put things were she couldn't find them later. I carried the vaccum up the four flights of stairs. Whoo! What a helper I am. Can you feel the sarcasm here?
My poor, baby sister...She was, and might still be, so nervous. I wish there was a way I could take all her nervousness away. I know she'll do great in her studies and she'll have fun.
My mom went all out trying to make my sister's room cozy for her. It's full of fun, bright, funky colours. It screams my sister's name. I contributed an altered box for her to store pencils, pens, whatever she wants.

It used to be a Q-Tip box.
It didn't turn out how I imagined it in my head, but my sister said she liked it. The inside box was first painted with a white primer, then I painted the inside with some bright yellow paint I found at the Salvation Army. The outside of the inside of the box (ya got that?) was painted with new KaiserCraft paint. I love it! It went on so smoothly and thick. I painted two layers on, but I'm sure I could have gotten away with only one. Next, I Mod Podged over all the paint to make it smooth. Next, because it was boring, I doodled around the edges.
The outside was just paper and some KI tags I've had for a while. I wanted bright and fun. These mixed perfectly. I doodled around the tags (there's more on the other side, but I didn't bother taking a picture) so they matched up with the doodling on the inside. I was going to Mod Podge the outside too for protection, but then decided to leave it. That way my sister can fill in the tags easier to put a personal touch on it.
I also make her a little box of envelopes for storing momentos. I stuffed a couple of reciepes, some homemade bookmarks and a picture of Monkey and I into them to get her started. I forgot to take a picture of those.
And last, but not least,

September Already?

Happy September 1st!
I can't believe it's September already. Where was summer? There was frost outside on the cars this morning so I think fall is here already. Although I shall mourn the days summer never arrived, I am so stoked, yes, stoked! - for fall. I love autum! I love that Monkey looks so great surrounded by yellows, oranges and reds. My all time favourite pictures of Monkey are all in the fall. I can't wait to capture more this year.
Of course, now I am jinxing myself; and I won't get a decent shot at all now. Doesn't matter. I still love fall.
Here in Ontario, the kiddies are going back to school. Monkey, being only 2, dispite all those strangers who think he's 4 or 5 (he's tall, people! Just really tall. Don't give me evil looks for having my son in a stroller. Bet you had your two-year-olds in strollers too. He's just tall...My 4T pants wearing two-year-old)...Went a little off topic there, didn't I? I'm just a little fed up with people thinking my son is a four-year-old who needs speech therapy. Yes, he knows all his colours and shapes; all his letters (just not in order yet; but he can read his own name) and can count to 20 in English (but he can't count on his fingers. He double counts and not in order), 10 in French and 10 in Spanish (that one is credited to Dora and Deigo...I can't speak Spanish). He's also learning his colours in French and Spanish (this one is thanks to a Baby Einstein toy) too. I'm home with him. I work with him. He's not a kindgardener yet; he's still a toddler.
A toddler who's going for his first denist visit today, while the other school age kids go to school. Monkey chipped his front tooth. We're going to make sure we don't have to worry about future damage from the chip.
It's also a first day for me. I'm going back to work today; saying farewell to my stay-at-home mom days. I've accepted a position at a bank. Today I am going in to sign all the paperwork and what-nots. I've very excited; looking forward to adult conversations again.
And now on to scrappy stuff...

Here's what's posted on So Sketchy today:
I love this picture of DS. We were traveling home from Belleville a few weeks ago. Monkey fell asleep while eatting grapes. He looked so sweet, I had to take a couple of pictures.
Check out Ally's sketch here. It's a great one to use up some of those scraps. Everything (but the cardstock base) was pulled out of my scrap bin. You should try it too!
Until next time...
