MIA

Just a few hours ago I was so tired that I poured apple juice into my coffee thinking it was my Caramel Vanilla Coffee Mate. Only after I poured did I realize what I had done. After laughing so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants, I vowed to make a morning bathroom stop before getting my coffee from now on. I'm hoping that will prevent any pouring blunders in the future; but if one should slip by, then hopefully I won't be praying for any other mishaps.

I realized this morning, after a new coffee was made and consumed, I haven't blogged in a while. I didn't mean to lack in the blogging category. I suppose I've just been too busy. Helping out my mother and with Monkey's birthday.

I'm still dealing with the fact that Monkey is two. He's offically a toddler. I refused to call him a toddler throughout the past year. To me, a toddler is a two-year-old. I might be wrong, but I didn't want my baby to be anything but a baby. Now I'm forced to agree he is no longer a little baby, but a big boy in training. He's rocking the potty training and is almost ready to graduate from his sippy cup. He eats with his fork and spoon (most of the time) and can get through most meals sans bib (unless it's really messy). He used normal crayons (not those huge, chunky ones) and, under extreme supervision, can use markers nicely. He's figured out how to undress and can be found taking off his pants, socks and shirts all the time; unless I put him into a button down shirt. He can't work buttons yet. Just zippers and snaps. Speaking of the devil...He just wondered by with his overalls around his ankles. I will have to post a ipcture of that soon.

Monkey's birthday star cupcakes. This is the first time cupcakes made by me have looked kinda good. They tasted good.

Just like last year, Monkey dug into the frosting before we served.

Present time! Even with new toys just a tear away, Sticks, the stuffed dog, is still close by.

And a few days after the actual birthday, Monkey got a Thomas cake, homebaked by Grandma. And a ton of presents followed the yummy cake.

And now, a couple of layouts to share. Both were done for the Bad Girls Kits tote bag challenge.

"Why do I love BEING A GIRL? Because I get to be your mom. And that's pretty special." I didn't plan this one out at all. I just went with the flow and came up with this. And I love it! I've been waiting for the perfect LO to use this picture. And I will use it again since I printed it out three times; in three different tones. This one is in a pink tone. I also have a blue tone and a sepia tone.

I forget how I came across this picture. I found it the same day I made this layout. I remember taking the picture. It was taken with my cell phone. I was all dolled up for work while very pregnant. I think this is one of my fave layouts right now.

Fave Friday

Fave Friday time!!!

1. My bedding! I love my bedding! The picture is not of my bed though. I don’t have a bed right now. Just a mattress and box spring on the floor. We haven’t found a bedroom set we like just yet. But I love my bedding.

2. I am normally not one to go after animal print, but I love these shoes!

3. My Roots stretch “city” trousers. Just the most comfortable pair of pants I own. I live in them.

4. Roots vintage tribe leather bags. Not always in a design I like, but the leather is so darn soft and lovely! The nicest leather bags I’ve had the pleasure of man-handling.

5. Baby hats and hoodies that have bear ears on them. Monkey’s had a bunch. I still have my Baby Gap knit hat like the one in the picture. Only the one I had for Monkey was beige, not white. He was so cute in it.

A fun layout of Monkey being silly. I flocked most of the cut outs to give texture to the page. The title is also flocked very lightly. I love the fuzzy feeling and how it almost looks like painted clear alphas. The papers are mostly Happy Place from Sassafras Lass, with a piece of My Dearest .



There's Steve as a baby. I love the picture! This Sassafras was perfect for the page.

I am so flippin' excited! Canadian Scrapbooker has requested another layout of mine.

Whoo hoo, whoo hoo, whoo hoo!!!!!!!!

My first publication in Canadian Scrapbooker will be out on March 2nd, I believe. And the new one will be out on June 1st.

If only these were paying publications....That would be so nice and very helpful...Maybe someday.

Fave Friday Plus

Let's start off with some faves, shall we?

1. My Hello Kitty mug. It’s red and white with a lid so it’s perfect for making tea in; although I use it mostly for my morning coffee. I found it five or six years ago in a little Asian store in downtown Kitchener. It only cost me $6. I love that store. I found some of my cutest Hello Kitty and other character purses there. I must remember to go there with Monkey and pick out a stuffie or two. Who knows…Maybe I’ll score another cute mug.

2. Vanilla Caramel Coffee Mate. Bestest stuff ever to add to coffee. Anyone who knows me knows I hate the bitter taste of coffee. I do, however, enjoy flavoured coffees and lattes.. I add this stuff plus milk and a little bit sugar to my coffee and I am a happy camper. And much less grumpy in the morning too.




3. Louis Vuitton. Yep, I am a purse snob. I can openly admit it. I can spot most designer bags a mile away. I am a very proud owner of a Louis Vuitton cherry wallet. I would like a Louis bag to keep it company. Although I love designer bags, I don’t have many. A few JLO’s, a few XOXO’s (but would they really be considered designer?) and a Juicy Couture or two. I long for a Louis and have for years. I want to be able to buy one with CASH someday. And I will.

4. Making your child’s monster drawings into stuffies for them; as seen on Cityline. I love this idea! I’m not planning on taking Monkey’s scribbles and turning them into monsters, but I do plan on just making up a bunch of them for his room. I thought a cute monster theme would be nice in his room for when we set up the big boy bed. I figure cute monsters will help scare way the bad monsters.




5. Rachael Ray. I love her. I love her shows. I love her cook books. And best of all; Monkey loves her. We sit down to watch The Rachael Ray Show and 30 Minute Meals almost every day. He absolutely loves to watch her cook.

And lastly, I have a few layouts to share as we go into the weekend.

I came across these pictures and had to scrap them. Monkey is about 5 or 6 months old in them. I love his little toes. I'm going to have to re-print the one of him playing with the pillow. In the full picture, you can see his tiny baby toes peeking out from under the pillow.

Steve was getting me to take pictures of his paintball guns when Monkey took an interest in them. I snapped a few pictures of Monkey with the guns. Most of the gun got cropped out of these pictures because I wanted to focus on Monkey himself. I love how he looks in them.
