Scrappy Projects

I just realized I forgot to share a layout from a while ago. I did it up for The Scrapping Bug's blog and totally forgot to share here.

Jillibean Soup is awesome! I love their papers. I was going to use newer lines, but while shuffling through my stash, I found these. I just had to use them. The picture was taken by Steve's step sister, Sarah. This was Christmas time. Looking back, all I can think is, this is just days into my pregnancy, many weeks before I even knew.

So, what made me remember I didn't share that layout? I had to do another post. I just sent off the email to Kim today (late...opps...), but I figure before I forget, I'll share it here too today.

I love, love, love the Dear Lizzy Spring line! I bought most of it when it first came out. Then I hoarded it. At first, it was going to be the base of my pregnancy journal (which I have completely fallen behind on), but I changed my mind and used BG's Koishi instead.

I decided Dear Lizzy was too pretty to just put in a scrapbook (or in a large plastic tote bin where at least 100 LOs are awaiting a new home). So this is what I did...

I found this frame in my mother's garage. I have no idea where she got it from. I intended to spray it down with Glimmer Mists and put something in it. I just didn't know what. This pretty frame has been sitting, staring at me for almost a year. I've grown to love it's rawness, I couldn't bare to spray it. Or dab it with white paint like I almost did.

I jumped on the flower making trend. These are the same (sorta) as the ones Elizabeth Kartchner did the video tutorial on the American Crafts blog. They were super fun to make.

Upclose of one of the butterflies. I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I punched both pattern paper and then two different pink cardstocks. I used a tape runner to adhere a patten butterfly to a cardstock butterfly on fishing line. Some of the butterflies have been dressed up with some bling, but not all of them. And I just realized I took a picture of one of the worst examples! That butterfly has glue all over it's middle! Most of them are not that bad. But you're just going to have to take my word on it.

My frame inspired me and I ended up creating these right after I was done:

This Time Around - Such pretty, pretty papers! This layout has hidden journaling (can you see it peeking out) about how this pregnancy is different from my last. I started stitching and gluing when I realized I didn't have a spot for the journaling. That's why it's hidden.

Morning Cuppa - I played with Glimmer Mist. There's two blues (Frost and Sea Glass) and pink (Pink Taffy). I was just going to use white cardstock. So glad I decided to get messy instead. This layout is based on a sketch from Studio Calico's blog. Someday...Someday...Someday I'll have the extra money to finally sign myself up for a monthly subscription to their monthly kits. I'm sure I could swing it now, but I'd rather save up those pennies. They'll come in handy later on. Right now, I'll just enjoy hoarding their paper lines.
